Forrest Donald Bridges
Judge Bridges is the Senior Resident Superior Court Judge for District 27B, Cleveland and Lincoln Counties. He was born in Toluca, North Carolina.
In 1974, Judge Bridges earned a Bachelor of Arts from the North Carolina University at Charlotte and attended the U. S. Airforce Academy. He graduated from Wake Forest School of Law in 1977.
After law school, Judge Bridges was a private practitioner in Shelby, NC. During his legal career he has served on several boards including: Boards of Hospice, the Shelby Zoning Board of Adjustment, and Board of Advisors Member at Gardner-Webb University. He also served on the Bar Association Committee for Ethics and was a member of the Bankruptcy Section. Judge Bridges is dedicated to his community and volunteered with the Salvation Army and is an Elder and Deacon with Shelby Presbyterian Church.
On January 3, 1995, Judge Bridges became a Resident Superior Court Judge for Judicial District 27B. In 2000, Judge Bridges was elected as the Senior Resident Superior Court Judge of District 27B, where he serves still today.
As an adjunct professor at Gardner-Webb University and a visiting lecturer at Cleveland Community College, Judge Bridges works to ensure the next generation is prepared for the future.
Judge Bridges is married to Kathryn Bowling Bridges and has three children.
