Linda Ashendorf
Linda Ashendorf has her own public affairs consulting company. Her primary client is Republic Waste Services of Charlotte (formerly Allied Waste). She was educated in the High Point, NC, public school system and graduated from High Point College (now University) in 1965 with an A.B. Degree in Spanish/English. After several years of teaching Spanish, she moved to the investment real estate business and then to the solid waste industry.
Throughout her career, Ms. Ashendorf has been immersed in the political process at the local, state, and national level, serving the Democratic Party in various capacities, particularly as a member of the Democratic National Committee.
Along with her political and public policy activities, Ms. Ashendorf has been heavily involved in her community in Charlotte in various endeavors ranging from human services to the arts. Ms. Ashendorf has chaired and served on many boards and commissions, including as a founding board member of Success by Six and Kids Voting.
At one time, Ms. Ashendorf was also the Chair of the Board of the NC Center for Public Policy Research.
Ms. Ashendorf is married to semi-retired attorney, Bill Ashendorf. They have one son, Jay, an Assistant District Attorney in Mecklenburg, and his wife Erin, and two grandchildren, Lily and Isaac.
